Nimo Farah joined the African Development Center in 2006 as a summer intern and over time progressed to her current role as the Housing & Financial Education Deputy Director.
Nimo began her journey with the ADC as a community organizer, managing ADC’s outreach to clients, partners and communities in the Twin Cities and Greater MN. As HomeStretch-certified workshop trainer and assists in conducting homeownership and financial literacy workshops. Her training includes: Financial Mentorship, University of MN Extension Service (2007), Homebuyer Education Methods: Training the Trainer, NeighborWorks America (2007), Four Cornerstones of Financial Literacy, Lutheran Social Service (2007), Homebuyer Counselor and CounselorMax Databasing, MN Home Ownership Center (2007), Residential Mortgage Origination, Kaplan (2007), and Introduction to Financial Coaching, Tribe Inc. (2008). Nimo is also Local Initiative Support Corporation (LISC) participant for 2009. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies and African American and African Studies from the University of Minnesota.
