Work of the New Willmar Office Featured in West Central Tribune

The largest newspaper in the Willmar region, the West Central Tribune, revisited the African Development Center recently to report on the work and progress that has been made in the short two-month period since ADC held the Grand Opening of its Willmar office.

This story highlights issues specific to this region and city of Willmar, which are just beginning to be fully realized as Emerging Markets Manager, Abdirzak Mahboub, gains more knowledge of the situation from the community and organizational partners.

Of these issues, housing is perhaps the biggest surprise. From the article:
The African Development Center is mainly a business development organization and does not normally focus on social services, said Mahboub. However, the magnitude of the housing needs in Willmar surprised him, he said, and it had to be addressed. The African Development Center has been working with Habitat for Humanity to develop housing for large families, and he has talked with other local agencies about collaborating to work on the problem.
