Green. Given his knowledge and experiences, including time spent as the Minneapolis Public School’s interim Superintendent, this is sure to be a very educational and inspiring discussion.

What a fantastic way to start this new year of Business Breakfast Roundtable discussions! This month, the African Development Center of Minnesota had the pleasure to host Senior Vice President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, Dorothy Bridges.

With a packed Meridel LeSueur Conference Room, Vice President Bridges spoke about the deep research and efforts of the Bank in relation to community development, housing, and financial education.

"Understanding the Somali Culture" Community Meeting in Willmar a Huge Success!

The African Development Center was proud to be a part of a community meeting aimed at increasing public knowledge of the Somali culture in the Willmar area. This meeting, sponsored by the Willmar Lakes Area Community Marketing Coalition in cooperation with ADC, the City of Willmar, Willmar Public Schools, Bremer Bank, and the Willmar Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce was a huge success – with over 650 residents attending the day’s sessions.

ADC is searching for an Emerging Markets Manager to direct the ADC office in Rochester.

ADC has been growing to serve pan-African immigrants and refugees from not only the eleven-county metro area of the Twin Cities, but also throughout the state in such cities as: St. Cloud, Owatonna, Rochester, Willmar, Marshall, Mankato, and Faribault.

We are currently seeking an individual to join ADC, to help support and manage our emerging markets by serving our clients and their families in the Rochester and Southeastern Minnesota areas.

Hussein Samatar to Speak at MLK Breakfast in Rochester

Hussein Samatar, founder and executive director of the African Development Center, will be the keynote speaker at the 17th annual Martin Luther King Jr. We Have a Dream Breakfast at the International Event Center in Rochester, MN.

This is an event co-sponsored and organized by the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce and the Rochester branch of the NAACP. The breakfast will be from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. on Jan. 16 at the International Event Center, Rochester.

ADC Meets Charities Review Council Standards

The African Development Center of Minnesota is proud to announce that it has been certified in in accountability and awarded the Charities Review Council Meets All Standards Seal. The Certification and Seal indicate that ADC meets all twenty-seven of the Council’s Accountability Standards.

Nonprofit organizations such as ADC earn the Seal by voluntarily participating in the Council’s online Accountability Wizard. The Accountability Wizard is available to all nonprofit organizations.
