It is our distinct honor to feature two extremely distinguished leaders – Governor Mark Dayton and Minnesota Housing Commissioner Mary Tingerthal to lead this month’s Roundtable discussion. We are very excited about this event, as it will undoubtedly offer an unprecedented opportunity to discuss state housing and economic development issues that affect our region and community, such as housing finance trends in the state and nation, as well as the steps taken by the Federal government to address the housing crisis. Join us for an insightful discussion on bills or laws concerning the crisis, and the impact they may have on the middle class and low income Minnesotans.
Usually held from 7:30-9:00 on the third Thursday of each month, this roundtable will run March 15th from 7:00 – 9am. Please notice the time change for this month. Because of prior commitments, the presentation/discussion will begin promptly at 7:30, and run until 8:30am.

Mark Dayton is Minnesota’s 40th Governor. He was born in Minneapolis and raised in a house in Long Lake, where his father still lives today. For most of the past 34 years, Mark has served Minnesotans, as Commissioner of the Minnesota Departments of Economic Development and of Energy and Economic Development, as State Auditor, and as United States Senator.
Governor Dayton graduated, cum laude, from Yale University. Currently, Mark serves on the Executive Committee of the National Governor’s Association.

Mary Tingerthal is the Commissioner of Minnesota Housing, an agency that advances affordable housing opportunities for low and moderate income Minnesotans. Prior to this, she has served as the President of Capital Markets Companies for the Housing Partnership Network. Ms. Tingerthal has also held senior management positions with the National Equity Fund, GMAC Residential Funding, the City of Saint Paul, and the Community Reinvestment Fund. She was also instrumental in establishing the National Community Stabilization Trust
Ms. Tingerthal holds a Master’s Degree in Business from Stanford Graduate School of Business, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Minnesota. She currently serves on the Boards of the National Housing Trust, the National Community Investment Fund, and on the investment committee of the Calvert Foundation.
As with all Business Breakfast Roundtables, this session will be held at the African Development Center Main Office in Minneapolis.
