Dr. Aïda Lewis is an educator, leadership scholar, mediator, and community leader with more than 25 years of experience in education, nonprofit leadership, and community engagement. 

 

Originally from Senegal and now based in Minnesota, she serves as a French Instructor at Macalester College and as President of the Senegalese Association of Minnesota. She holds a Ph.D. in Human and Organization Development from Fielding Graduate University, where her research focused on leadership development and community engagement among diasporic West African women.

 

Dr. Lewis brings extensive experience in nonprofit governance, mediation, program development, and cross-cultural engagement. Through her professional and community leadership roles, she has worked to expand opportunities for immigrant and underserved communities.

 

As a member of the African Development Center Board of Directors, she is committed to advancing entrepreneurship, economic opportunity, financial empowerment, and community prosperity for African immigrant and refugee communities throughout Minnesota.
